Your card is gorgeous, so glad you participated. Please send me an email with your mailing addy so I can get your stamp in the mail.
Now on to the November Challenge!
I can’t be the only one who has started getting a jump on the Christmas cards; December will be here in no time. So, this month your challenge is to create a Christmas card (or project) using non-traditional colours (i.e. no red/green combos). Isn’t that easy?
create a new card or project using a Magnolia stamp based on the November challenge;
Upload your card to an online gallery or your blog, please ensure you link us up, or at a minimum, mention this blog challenge. If you do not have a blog or online gallery please email me your submission. We do prefer that our challenges are not combined with other store challenges; and
Come back to this post and leave a comment or fill out Mr. Linky (below) with the DIRECT link to your card/blog post by midnight EST November 30th.
And as an added bonus, your name will be thrown in the hat twice (for each entry) if you add our store banner to your sidebar and link us up.
Curious as to what’s up for grabs? This ADORABLE snowman stamp (one of Carla’s favourites): Edwin’s Snowman!

Edited to add: I’ll apologize now for ending the challenge early, for some reason when I got up this morning I thought it was November 1st… I’ll blame it on sick kids and lack of sleep. That being said, I didn’t feel right changing anything after I posted a winner so if anybody else posts a card to the October challenge they will get an extra ballot for the November challenge. Thanks for understanding.
Just a quick heads up; the magazine is now in stock. I will be processing pre-orders first (pre-orders will be held for 2 days only), however, orders will continue to be processed in the order they were received. The magazine itself can ship at the lettermail rate (flat rate) with up to 6 stamps or small embellishments. Please contact me if you have any questions,
So did anybody make a card this weekend? The October challenge isn’t over yet so get cracking!! You can find more details about our October challenge HERE.
Here is what I made this Sunday. I used one of the older magnolia stamps, Standing Fall Tilda, she is still a favourite of mine and some of the Yummy Tummy papers.
Magnolia Ink: My order has shipped and I am expecting it in this week. Once I have it I should be able to let you know how much it will cost to ship as Magnolia never did get back to me on the dimensions of the magazine. I find that some of the European magazines tend to be bigger than the ones in North America and so I have concerns about whether it will fit in a standard envelope and if the weight will keep it at lettermail or not.
Special note about preorders: Once the magazines are received into inventory I will put them all on hold for two days. That will give everyone who placed a pre-order time to checkout. After the two days I will process orders for everyone else. The reason I am doing it this way is that the last few times I have done a preorder there have been people who never actually bought the items they ordered and I don’t want to hold items if there are people waiting for them. Please email me if you have any concerns about your preorder.
SO Snowy Collection: I will be ordering some of the new snowman stamps from the ‘So Snowy’ collection. Magnolia Sweden is also supposed to have new paper flowers available but they haven’t been listed on their wholesale site yet.
New items: The Stampendous storage solutions are en route and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they arrive soon. I have added some 5.5 x 5.5 envelopes to the store site (listed under paper), including some red and green ones for the holidays. Keep your eyes open for some new Prima flowers and holiday leaves that should be arriving this week.
Welcome to my first DT call! I would like to start by saying THANK YOU to Carla Peicheff who accepted my offer to head up the DT. She is one busy lady and I am so lucky to have her.
First, I would like to give you a little information about Stamp Shoppe. It is my new online store based in Canada that specializes in Magnolia Rubber Stamps. I just opened in July of this year and I am focusing on great customer service and fast shipping. I am a very small business but it is my goal to carry a wide selection of Magnolia stamps at competitive pricing and service.
That being said, I am looking for up to two more ladies (or gentlemen) who have a passion for Magnolia stamps and/or cardmaking. You must have an active blog and the ability to take and post good quality photographs of your work. Stamp Shoppe is a Canadian store and so for the time being the DT call is only open to people residing in Canada. This call is for a 3 month term, from 15 November 2009 – 15 February 2010.
What I would expect from a DT member:
At least 6 cards/ projects per month to be posted on your blog, the Stamp Shoppe Gallery (once I have it up), The Stamp Shoppe Blog and on any other stamping boards where you are active. The blog posts must contain information on what was used to create the project with links back to the store to help people find the products;
Participate in and promote blog challenges, and events sponsored by the store;
Actively promote Stamp Shoppe on your blog and in other places when it is appropriate to do so;
Post one tutorial on the Stamp Shoppe blog during your term; and
Participate in other challenge blogs (i.e. Just Magnolia, Friday Sketchers etc) when able to do so.
What you can expect from me:
Minimum two Magnolia stamps a month (and some months may include embellishments, papers etc, as well)
A selection of stamped images monthly (on Neenah cardstock using Memento)
An additional 15% off purchases from the Stamp Shoppe Store
A cute design team button for your blog and for use in signature blocks
A link to your blog on both the Stamp Shoppe blog and store site.
To promote your blog sites whenever I can
If you are interested in applying please submit the following requirements in an email to stampshoppe@bell.net by November 13th at midnight EST. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.
Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address
A brief bio of yourself and why you are applying for the DT.
A link to your blog
A link to an online gallery showing your work (if you have one)
A minimum of two new cards created for this DT call. Cards must show off your style(s) and at least one should show good use of ribbon and/or lace with flowers. Cards must contain a coloured Magnolia image. If you do not own any Magnolia images then please note that in your submission and use any stamped image which you have coloured yourself. We request that card submissions not be posted in your gallery/blogs until after the DT announcements are made.
The new DT will be contacted on Nov 14th and once we receive confirmations, will be announced publicly on the 15th.
Normally Magnolia releases the stamps for retailers to buy once they have shipped to the stamp club, but you could imagine my surprise today when I went on the wholesale site and the line was posted for ordering. I did place an order tonight (without a pre-order) because the service with Magnolia has been very slow lately. It sometimes takes weeks from the time I place an order until they actually ship. Anyhow, I did place the order tonight for their Christmas line (including 12 of the 18 patterned papers) and may place another order next week for their Snowman line and the new paper flowers they are releasing (no images of those yet). Here are a few samples of the images I ordered, the rest are on the store site HERE.
The ‘So Snowy’ line is only a few snowman and sentiments and I will not be ordering this line unless there is a demand for the stamps. Please email me by next Sunday (Oct 25) if you want any of the ‘So Snowy’ stamps.
Magnolia Ink Magazine
The Magnolia site has now listed the magazine as ’shipping’ although I have not received any notification that my order has shipped. That being said, the change on the site from pre-order to shipping is a good sign and I expect my order will be shipping soon.
October Blog Challenge
Don’t forget our monthly challenge! This month the challenge is to create a PINK card (using a Magnolia image, of course) and you could win a ribbon stamp from the PINK collection.
Coming soon: Envelopes and Storage Solutions
I have ordered all three (3) sizes of the Stampendous storage solutions and they have already shipped. I have also ordered some 5.5′ x 5.5′ square envelopes which I will be selling in the store, I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time finding envelopes for that size. I also ordered some green and red coloured ones for Christmas cards. DT call Keep your eyes open as I plan on holding a DT call soon. More details to come
I will be placing an order with my distributor shortly and I want to offer a few items that I will order as a special order only. These items will not be kept in stock so if you are interested please let me know by Sunday, October 18th.
Spellbinders Nestabilities
If my supplier has the ones you are looking for I can certainly bring them in. The price would be $24.00-$26.00 each depending on the style you want. Here are some examples:
Prima Bling (pearls and rhinestones), there are a ton of colours available, here is a taste…
The collection is now in stock and ready to put in your cart. I will do my best to get orders out within 24 hours of ordering so that you will have them before Halloween.
Stamp storage
A little while back I had a request for some Stampendous Storage Solutions. I am considering bringing them into stock because they seem to be an excellent solution to storing all these cute stamps. These containers can be hung from a peg board or stored in magazine holders for easy access to your stamps. I love the idea of having them easily accessible and I can store them by collection, theme – whatever. Of course there is always a minimum order so I would like some feedback on whether or not you would be interested in buying any of these containers. The price for each would be about $3 and I would likely have specials for bulk orders. There are also some thicker ones that would accommodate wood mounted stamps. You can use the feedback button on the bottom of the stores website or contact me directly at: stampshoppe@bell.net
The “So Spooky” Line has shipped and I am hoping (read: fingers crossed) to receive it by the weekend. If so, I will be uploading them as soon as I can to try and have them to you in time for Halloween. The paper packs are also supposed to be mailed with the stamps so both the “Yummy Tummy” line and “So Spooky” will be available.
No GST! Due to my small volume (in comparison with other online craft stores) I have opted to cancel my GST account with Revenue Canada. It is based on annual revenue and mine should remain low enough that I don’t have to collect GST. I admit, part of the reason was all the paperwork *growl* but I think that in order to try and stay competitive (and stay out of the red), it was the best choice.
And finally, here is my first attempt at a pink card. I don’t have a lot of pink so for now it’ll be baby steps for me LOL…

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all the Pink Collectionwill be on sale.
